This is a placeholder privacy policy. A more formal policy will be needed before broader vehicle/evidence data collection begins. We recommend reviewing this with a data protection professional.

What data we may collect

When you join the group or submit vehicle data, we may collect:

• Your name and email address
• Your country or region
• Information about your vehicle (VIN, model year, mileage, battery health data)
• Information about any battery work, recalls, or warranty interactions you have experienced
• Preferences for how your data may be used

When you visit this website, our hosting provider (Netlify) may collect standard server logs including IP addresses and browser information. We do not use third-party analytics tracking.

Join form submissions

The Join form is saved using Netlify Forms. A Join submission may include your name, email address, country or region, relationship to an I-PACE, ownership status, volunteering interests, and consent choices.

The Join form also asks Netlify Identity to send a sign-in or account confirmation email. Vehicle evidence submissions are not stored yet.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

The site may use cookies, browser storage, and hosting logs for essential services:

• Netlify Identity may use cookies or browser storage when you sign in or register.
• The cookie/privacy notice stores whether you have dismissed it, so it does not appear on every page view.
• Netlify hosting may use technical infrastructure logs to provide and protect the site.

If analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies are added later, the site must be updated to request consent before those cookies are set.

Why we collect it

• To allow you to participate in the owners' group
• To build a structured, anonymised evidence base about I-PACE battery and recall issues
• To contact you about group developments, if you have consented to this
• To identify duplicate submissions and verify data quality

Authentication

We use Netlify Identity for sign-in. This means your account credentials are managed by Netlify's identity service. We do not store passwords ourselves. Netlify's privacy policy applies to account data.

How your data may be used

With your consent, anonymised aggregate statistics drawn from your submission may be:

• Published on this website's evidence dashboard
• Included in reports shared with JLR
• Used in media or consumer rights communications

Personal data — your name, email, full VIN, registration, or uploaded documents — will not be published publicly without your explicit permission.

Document uploads

Document upload functionality is not implemented in this version of the site. When it is implemented, uploaded documents (dealer reports, battery reports, invoices, etc.) will be stored securely and not shared without consent. Owners will be asked to redact personal information before uploading.

Data security

We use Netlify's hosting infrastructure, including Netlify Forms for Join submissions and Netlify Identity for authentication. Future vehicle/evidence processing will use Netlify Functions and Netlify Blobs. Raw personal data and full VINs will not be stored in public static files.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@ipace-owners.org.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated before broader live vehicle/evidence data collection begins. We will notify members of material changes.
